Book Overview

A thoughtful and eloquent meditation that invites us to treat life like a grand exploration and illuminates the possibilities that await us when we do--from "a philosophical adventurer--or perhaps an adventurous philosopher" (The New York Times).

Essential Life Handbook

This is one of those rare books that gives depth of meaning and a wider range of applicability with age. The more you read it, the more you will learn about yourself. I would put this book on par with Paul Arden's first two books as well as Jack Foster's book How to Get Ideas. While one could argue the individual merits of any of these books against the others, they all have extremely valuable things to say on a very personal and practical level. How anyone could give this book only one star is beyond me. It is infinitely more useful than its price would suggest, and if any negative reviewer bothered to apply the lessons in this book instead of just ponder them, they would realize this as well.
