Very readable

I read this book to gain a better understanding of Paul's epistle to the Philippians. In past attempts, the books I read were too steeped in foreign language analysis or history as to be unreadable or only slightly helpful. This book, however, was very helpful. Although the author does explain some of the word chosen in the original Greek, but this is minimal, which allows the reader to focus on the passage. This helps the flow of the book quite a bit. In using scripture, the author quotes the specific passage from the Tyndale Living Bible. There are references to other translations, such as KJV or NIV, but as with the reference to Greek choice, but these do not hinder the reader at all. The commentary on the passages is concise and too the point. This is definitely information that is helpful in explaining the passages. I would recommend this book.
