Ancient Egypt at its best

Anyone who loves to read about Ancient Egypt is going to love this one. It keeps you turning the pages and changing your mind about the "who done it?". It's descriptive enough about the time, place and surroundings to transport you to ancient Memphis, without being to flowery in that description to bog down the actual plot and development of the characters. I loved this book and recommend it to any and all "arm chair" Egyptologists out there, like me, traveling through the pages of a book.

A Thinking person's mystery

Not a book for someone who wants a story with slam-bang action, sex, rough stuff and smart repartee which can be read in 90 minutes. This is a complex mystery which unfolds slowly and involves issues of duty, honor, integrity, respect for tradition and reverence for the gods challenged by duplicity and greed, in a society existing thousands of years ago peopled by characters who, under different names, exist today. The author seems to know about the way people in that time lived and behaved. The book involves people who actually existed; their names and likenesses come down to us through history. If the events in the story did not actually happen, they could have, and the characters the author gives us would have reacted as they do in the book. This book requires the reader to contribute time and thought to the story; if one does so the reward is well worth the effort.

Pharaoh's son - a good read

I have read this book and enjoyed it immensely. It opens with a festival in the City of Memphis, Egypt during the Reign of Ramses II; while a parade is being formed a 40 ft statue falls on the crowd of revelers. The mystery begins with how the statue came to fall and moves through the why. The Royal family of Egypt and the Priesthood of the god Ptah become interwoven into the intrigue. I found the main characters well drawn and would not hesitate to recommend this book.
