A great book, but I can't see myself the reason Pedita loves John...

A really good book with a good storyline and real life characters. John is unbelievable though, and extremely violent. I can't see why Perdita likes him. What makes me sad is no one else seems to have read this book, and it's a really good one that I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Well Done Mystery

This is the perfect "Young Adult" section choice. Ms. Holland created a detailed and engaging mystery filled with murders, horses, and intrigue. I honestly could not put the book down, it was such a wild ride that I kept reading to find out what would happen next. I am not sure if she wrote any other horse-related books but I certainly hope so! I probably will only recommend this book to high school age readers because of its content regarding child abuse, horse slaughter, murder, and financial sabotage. A younger reader might not understand the full meaning of some of the character conversations that make it such a good young adult mystery.
Mystery of the Lost Memory

The book Perdita, written by Isabelle Holland, was very entertaining. This story about a young woman who was found practically dead at the bottom of a well without her memory will make you want to keep reading until you can uncover the truth. The young woman this book is about was called Perdita, which means lost. When she recovered she found a job at a stable. She recognized things and began to piece together her past, remembering bits and pieces now and then. As she solved the mystery of her past, she also helped solve the mysteries at the stables. She managed to fall in love too. As she remembered, the feeling that she shouldn't remember and that she was in danger kept growing, until she almost lost her life again. This book was very entertaining and very well written. The mystery and the feeling of not knowing the answer makes you want to read on. You also want to find out what happens between Perdita and the owner of the stables. Holland kept adding clues and little twists that could throw off what ever you thought the answer might be. As Perdita meets new people the plot thickens and so does the mystery. Holland did a good job writing this book. It's a somewhat bigger book but not hard to read. I liked the way she wrote it and the style she used. I really like how she sort of included two mysteries in this book. Not only did you want to find out about Perdita's past, but you also wanted to find out about the sneaky things going on at the stables. This book was very good and many people would enjoy it.

This book is a great read!It was one of my favorite books when I was a teenager.I strongly recommend it to horse-crazy girls, and also to their mothers!Perdita has amnesia and therefore needs to find out who she is.All she knows is that she loves horses and knows her way around them.So she gets a job working at a horsefarm. The horses play a major role throughout the book and lead her to getting her memory back.
