Amazing story

Wow what a story. The writing was great and the characters were even better. I had a hard time putting this book down

Great condition and a wonderful read.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Great series

This is a 24 book series which I love. If you are into pre-historic peoples, you will definitely want this entire series. I actually purchased the entire series all at once and am now on book 12. I must tell you though, that Books 1 and 2 are difficult to get through and I honestly wondered if I had made a mistake by purchasing the entire series. But starting with Book 3, a huge difference and fantastic writing and great stories. The only reason Books 1 and 2 are difficult, is you have to wrap your brain around the different terms for things like the wind and rain and clouds plus the different tribe names and the people's names. It takes the first two books to retrain your brain. I tried to get two other book readers to get into the series and neither could get past the first book sooooo, go ahead and buy this series but just know the first two books might scare you away. Again, having said all of the above, from Book 3 on, I can't put them down and just want to read all day long, which I've done a lot with this series. It's so hard to find pre-historic people's books. I've read the many caveman series and loved them all also. Clan of the Cave Bear is my all time favorite and the 3 book Caveman is also really worth reading.

Excellent

This series of books is wonderful. They don't coincide on a specific timeline but after one you have to read the next. After reading Jean Auel's series I was afraid nothing would compare but this series is close. At little less descriptive than Jean but much more drama! From People of the Wolf to People of the Earth, Fire, River, Lakes, Lightning, and Masks, they all keep you waiting for more. Write on Katherine and Michael!

Wonderful book

I read this series of books and I must say that the authors did a fabulous job of bringing the characters and the landscapes to life. As a follower of similar belief systems I found this book hit home with me in a spiritual sense. The authors do a wonderful job portraying the characters and their lives in a very real and believable way. I just can't put the series down.

An excellent beginning!

I had a hard time getting into the style of writing and understanding the story line at first, having just finished the Jean Auel series, but in short time I was so enveloped in the book that I could not tear myself away. I have seldom read a book so quickly and with such intent. It was a fabulous story of mystical power, dreams, war, abuse and the power of one dreamer to lead his people to their new beginning. The strength of the charachters boggled me and intrigued me. Must read!

The Gears brought history to life for me

When I began reading the Gears,I started out of order, with People Of The Sea. Since then I have read the entire series. People Of The Wolf was the most captivateing. The caracters are brought to life. This book gives one an amazeing slant on Native American belief and religion.

I found this book to be creative and informative!

I actually picked this book up off my father's shelf of cheap paperbacks because I was bored. I was certain it would be a bad Jean Auel copy, but to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it immensely! I loved the mixture of historical fact with some creative fictional characterizations. Jean Auel's first book 'Clan of the Cave Bear' was wonderful, but I was very disappointed in all the books that followed. I hope this one is different, because Im definately going to read the rest of the series!
