Penny Dis morphed from brief thoughts shared with Robert Jackson's students at the beginning of his math classes at the North York Adult Institution where he has been teaching since 2008. Back then, students found them so valuable that they sought permission to share them with family and friends. Jackson unreservedly granted their request and then started to expand his readership with thought-provoking meditations to his cellphone contacts. Several friends found them so helpful that they not only forwarded them to their loved ones but encouraged Jackson to think of publishing them. The result is Penny Dis (meaning "think seriously about this"), a mere dream nearly a decade ago, now a reality. The hope is that many would be brought into a relationship with Jesus Christ or a deeper one through reading, reflecting, and acting on these inspiring, Bible-based devotional insights.
