Protestant Prayer Beads

The book contains the guidance in how to use the beads to enhance your meditation time and prayer. Each bead has meaning. You can focus on any one bead or work your way around the "bracelet". The beads aid in giving your meditation focus. I've passed on a dozen of the booklets to my spirituality class and they have been very well received. Members of the class have bought a number of the sets to give as gifts to friends and family.

Pearls of Life: For the Personal Spiritual Journey

This is a great little book. It helps to slow you down and evaluate what is really important in life without being preachy. I got mine from a friend and loved it so much I purchased two to give to my daughters. When things are not going right the "pearls" are such a comfort. When things are going well the "pearls" still leave you with a sense of calm.

A Beautiful Book

Pearls of Life provides a wonderful way to focus one's prayer life. The book gives you the history, some specific prayers for each pearl, and some beautiful pictures. While I like their prayers, I soon found that I used the specific title of each pearl and found my own way to pray. I have shared this treasure with many people.

Helpful Prayer Beads

I was raised a Catholic, and like many, found myself missing some of the rituals long after I left formal practice of the faith. I did a little study on "faith-practice aids," and saw that the concept of using beads to focus on prayer or meditative practice was in fact an ancient approach, and more flexible than many may realize. One reading of the book oriented me to the meaning of the beads. I found it easy to remember what each meant. Every use of the bracelet (or bead sequence)reminds one of the great passages of life, the lightness, the darkness, the secrets, the mysteries, but most of all, the ultimate assurance that life experience matters--that our time here means something. I love the pearls of life--they are suitable for any person who feels the need to occasionally pull out of this complicated world into the warmth of the great mystery from whence we came, to where we will all one day return.

Wonderful tool for a walking meditation

Bishop Lonnebo has ingeniously created a tool that helps the mind focus on prayer and meditation. It has become an indispensable tool on my morning two mile walk. Often my brain is so scattered...it is hard to stay connected to God. But there is something about holding each bead in my fingers that keeps my thoughts in sinc with the meaning of that particular bead. His artfully done book gives an explanation and simple prayer for each bead, and he has placed them in a helpful and logical sequence that flows. If you enjoy prayer and meditation, but need a little help in staying focused, you will love the Pearls of Life!
