Payoffs are Sometimes Worth It

Payoff at Pawnee was L P Holmes fifty-first novel to be published. And it is just as good as any of his others; there is no let down in quality or excitement. This time Frank Allard, the new marshal, finds himself in the middle of a range war that left the country filled with dead bodies and lots of unanswered questions. And he had to prove to the town and himself if he was worthy to wear a star. There was the love of a woman too, that he had to figure into the equation as well. This is an exceptional piece of fiction that shouldn't be overlooked. And goes quite well with Mr. Holmes body of work.
