WW2 from French ten POV; WONDERFUL FOR HOMESCHOOL!!
Published by MyKidsMommy8 , 1 year ago
This book is a WWII book from the point of view of teens in France. Our view of the war and it's impact in the US is lacking of viewpoints imo and I enjoyed that this book brought that to the conversation. I'd suggest it is appropriate for middle school up. The main plot line is about the families around a mine in France that attempted to fight Nazis with sabotage. After the adults are arrested many youth took their jobs in the mine AND in the resistance. It's a well thought out, realistic, impactful story with tons of conversation points. I've used this in public and homeschool curriculums and really enjoy it. It's lovely to balance out our view of this war and Frances attempt to avoid war, with a more local account. Am currently buying additional copies! Wish they'd bring this back to print.
