Good book

This is a good book to teach young children about the genre of historical fiction. You can use it to help them understand what is real and what is not and how to distinguish between the two. It also opens up a discussion about what molasses is and how not too long ago things were very different in this country. You can take this story many places. It also introduces onomatopeia.
