Brillant addition to the series!!

Drizzt can be imitated and duplicated but there can only be one Drizzt. Drizzt is a very original character, in each book he discovers more of himself. I must admit if you're a new reader to this book you might feel you may want to read the previous books. I feel that there has never been a story about a drow as complex as he is. Drizzt learns honor through friendship, he know his friends are very important to him. He's brave for facing hatred every where he goes because of his race. I love the way that R A Salvatore tied up loose ends and he has left more room for cliff hangers. Which, by the way, are tied up in future books. Even though, readers might feel this character is too powerful, this powerful drow, over time he learns to use his brains over brawn. If you read the previous books, be in for a surprise. I was shocked to find out who was his equally powerful foe on the loose in this edition.

Simply Awsome

this is the best book ive read in a long time its even better that (the legacy) Its great i recommend it to every one its r.a.salvatores best yet ,i think. Every thing all comes together in it even cadderly and danica is in it. Wulfgar is still the best character even though he doesnt come in till the last 2 chapters its still like the best book ive ever read.READ IT!

Can we say Hammer Man?

Sure we all saw that it was Wulfgar coming back, but I don't get the people out there who didn't want him back? Come on! For one thing he gives you an awesome conflict as an author (Catti-brie's choice). For the reader though, it has to be the Hammer. Aegis-Fang kicks some serious butt and in the hands of a man like Wulfgar, one can see some serious critter stomping. Sure Zak would have been cool, but who's to say he won't be back later? The main thing with Zak though is that he has been granted a peaceful rest. Drizzt has put him behind. The situation with Wulfgar and Catti-brie will make life so much more interesting. Where is the conflict if it is Zak? Then you just have two supreme drow warriors tearing it up on the surface. Where's the fun in that?

Old friends back again!

This was a great book! I don't know what is wrong with some of you people. I mean yeah I saw that it was Wulfgar coming a mile a way as well but it still held me encaptured up to and including his return. I mean the whole ending was awesome with all of the friends fighting together again amid all of the confusion. It had to touch you if you were a true Drizzt fan. The parts with the sea got a little boring but were needed to bring Cadderly into the picture. I thought that was pretty cool too. I can't wait for the Silent Blade to come out in paperback to continue what Salvatore has started here.

6 years lost?

Overall I enjoyed the book but bringing Wulfgar back was a bit much. I mean Salvatore already did that in Halfling's Gem with Bruneor. Also, the 5-6 years that Drizzt and Cattie-bree were on the Seasprite is because Salvatore wanted to get the timeline right for Drizzt to meet a mature and experienced Cadderly! Remember that both Canticle (Book 1 of the Cleric Quintet) and Siege of Darkness happened during the Time of Madness when the gods walked the material plane; thus, Salvatore needed time for 5 books of the Cleric Quintet to happen and for Cadderly to finish the cathedral, Spirits Soaring. All in all, it was an enjoyable book. However, I know that Drizzt and Cattie-bree are far more seasoned adventurers than they were in Crystal Shard, but they did seem quite invulnerable.
