Fun & Fabulous

Zoey, Jade and Marielle are your classic single 30-something women who are from the city and reunite in the city when their lives all start to fall to pieces. Roz Bailey's elaboration of the characters is so brilliantly executed that you can't help but read the book in 2 1/2 days (I know I did!) I think this is a fabulous read for anyone looking for a chick lit book. As an NYC-girl myself, it is an extremely relatable novel that I've passed to three other friends who adored it and I'm reading it again!

Calling Sex and The City Fans

This book has 3 main chicks in it. The first one being Zoey, an novelist with only one book on her bestseller list, she gets away from the pressures of her divorce and stays at a friends house in New York to help cure her writer's block. The second is Jade. She is the amourous one of the bunch. For every house she sells, it adds another on her list of sexual conquests. But lately she just feels unsatisfied and wants to experience a deeper feeling of intimancy in her sex life. Instead of a one hour romp in the floor of the new home she just sold. The third, and my favorite, is Marielle. She is an African-American struggling actress who has to change her hairstyle with every new audition she recieves. She doesn't realize that what she really needs is love and not a hairstylist. I would highly reccomend this book to my friends. It is a great chick book with alot of problems women face today.

This one emerges from the crowd!

When I first started reading Chick Lit, it was tough to find what my "next read" would be. Now, it seems like 10 new ones are published every day, and they are getting shorter and shorter, and it is becoming more difficult to get past the first chapter. Party Girls jumped out at me because of the cover artwork and because of its thickness. It is a good, meaty read that lets you get into some character development other than "I'm single and I'm doing the dating scene in New York City." You get a good sense of what each character is like, and by the end, they all have a few changes to their personalities or morals. I was able to envision where they lived and how they were dressed, like a little movie in my head. I happened to be in a store in downtown Boston, and saw a girl and thought to myself "hmm, I bet that is just what Jade Cohen would look like." Party Girls gets a big nod from me, and I'm looking forward to Roz Bailey's next book.

Excellent

This book was great. I couldn't put it down. It's just like Sex and the City. Everytime I went to read it I kept wanting more. I encourage everyone to read this because there is someone you can relate to in here.

A Fun Adventure in Chick Lit!

A walloping, spicy summer read. Plays up city romping by still-single women. Taps into a vital dynamic of Sex and the City -- jobs and men will come and go, but your girlfriends will always be there. Hope to see more from this author.
