If you are interested in the evidence for parapsychology this is a great book for you. The book is a bit dated, but is still the best of its kind. The author's conclusion is favorable to the evidence for parapsychological phenomenon, yet understated and fair minded. He considers the objections using substantial quotes from critics, never out of context. He also considers in some detail the implications of what psychic phenomena tells us about what it means to be human. I purchases this book about 4 years ago and have just reread it. It is one of 2 books I recommend to interested people including skeptics. The other is "The Founders of Psychical Research", by Alan Gauld.
