The author of Parallel Attraction unleashes another gripping novel set in an alternate world, where treachery threatens to destroy the strongest of allies, the most loyal of friendships, and the fiercest of passions. Original.
I love this series! Science fiction, romance, a healthy dose of intrigue, and some very fun time-travel-twistiness--it's like it was written just for me. Parallel Seduction features the romance between diabetic, nearly-blind FBI linguist Hope Harper and alien hybrid and second-in-command Scott Dillon that was begun in the previous book. The war is between the Refarians and Antousians, with humanity in the middle. The Refarians are on our side. Scott, however, is half-Antousian, which makes him feel like an ugly outsider despite being king Jared's trusted second-in-command, and being known for his good looks. As a result, he tends to date humans. A lot. Hope and Scott are barely acquaintances, but she's been having vivid dreams about him and their life together, and as they get to know each other better, it gets harder to separate the dream Scott from the waking one. Then Jake Tierney arrives, saying he's from the future, bringing warnings about Marco and events that have already been prevented in Parallel Attraction and Parallel Heat. Scott can sense that the man is an Antousian, and questions his motives, but the dream Scott urges Hope to trust Jake, and since she's already drawn to Jake, she does. Hope was a wonderful heroine. I already liked her in Parallel Heat, and she continued that wonderful blend of intelligence, strength, and vulnerability here. She had some pretty serious physical limitations, but she never let it stop her. She didn't go too far in the opposite direction, either--she acknowledged her limitations and worked around them. I sympathized with her, but never pitied her. And with a hero like Scott, who would? He was vulnerable, too, in a typically masculine way (and no, I don't mean it's a macho vulnerability--just that it seemed a typically male mindset). He's confident of his abilities, but doubts his intrinsic self-worth. He's very self-conscious and ashamed of his Antousian side, and because of a previous disastrous romantic overture, he believes his peers share his disgust. The two of them are well-matched, and it's lovely to see the chemistry and synergy between them. There's lots of action and intrigue, and the time travel effects can give you a headache until you get them straight--it's like looking at those hidden-picture paintings. As in the previous books, the other characters don't just disappear--their stories continue. For example, king Jared is under increasing pressure to provide an heir, a matter that's complicated by the fact that his mating cycle never developed normally, and that it's unknown whether he can father a child with his human queen, Kelsey. There are also some futuristic moral dilemmas concerning gene therapy and the origins of the Antousians. I think there's enough information provided for Parallel Seduction to stand on its own, but this is such a complex series that I'd highly recommend reading them in order: Parallel Attraction, Parallel Heat, then Parallel Seduction, and Parallel De

He hopes to prevent Rafarian Marco McKinley from completing activites that he believes will come to bear heavily on the Rafarian's current circumstances. Little does Jake know before he travels back that the chain of events he seeks to right has already been resolved. Antousian warrior and Rafarian sympathizer, Scott Dillon, recognizes Jake's Antousian scent and takes him for an enemy. He pursues Jake as he tries make his escape from the Rafarian's camp. In a moment of desperation Jake takes Scott's new lover, the nearly blind FBI agent Hope Harper, as his hostage. A fiery love triangle is born as Hope comes to realize that Jake stirs deep feelings of recognition--and familiarity---in her heart. Deidre Knight's Midnight Warrior series grows more compelling with each installment. Hope Harper proved a feisty heroine in this installment, and her ability to perform against an increasingly devastating personal disability provided an excellent tool for suspense In Parallel Seduction. Knight's increasingly vivid depictions of her character's plights, paired with her ability to crawl inside of their heads and hearts provides the reader with a compelling love story filled with unexpected plot turns. Don't miss it.
The war rages outside and within: Third book reaches new heights!

How does Deidre Knight do it? The first Parallel book was exceptional and each installment gets better and better! Parallel Seduction has more action as the war deepens and affects the characters, more suspense as the parallel worlds touch each other, and much more romance. When Hope Harper, an FBI linguist, is called in to translate the Refarian language, her duties bring her into contact with two men, Scott Dillion and Jake Tierny, an unknown factor who sets off alarms for all sides of the raging battle. Nearly blind from diabetes yet feisty and skilled, Hope uses her language skills and dreams to see beyond her the physical immediate reality. As Hope battles for her life and tries to choose between the two men, Deidre Knight delights readers by developing the stories of other characters. The exiled Refarian king Jared Bennett and Kelsey Wells battle Antousians and their infertility. Details of parallel worlds are given to shed more light on the past betrayal by Thea Haven and Marco McKinley. Although their story is not as prominent, the scenes and their context are crucial to understanding the betrayal and the entire parallel world effect. The history of the Refarian and Antousian animosity emerges in this installment, drawing the reader deeper and deeper to her finely created alien world. While the war rages outside, Knight also shows the war inside of the dual creature. This installment delves deeper into the cruelty of war and the power of love. Knight's imaginative writing allows the reader to understand evil at its heart. The details of the love experienced by Hope in the heat of battle reaches a new height in the Parallel series. Readers will remember the exquisitely written encounter between Hope and the evil Antousian Veckus for many years. Stunning! Deidre Knight tackles the issue of gene therapy. Knight's context differs from current political debates enough to reach the heart of both sides of several issues and the reader's heart. Her questions are both more philosophical and practical. The author views both sides and allows the reader to contemplate both without a simplistic resolution. Deidre Knight combines all the strengths of the paranormal romance and science fiction genres and creates a masterpiece!

PARALLEL SEDUCTION takes us into the parallel world where Jake Tierny is worried at the damage Marco might do. The war is not going well for the Refarins and this may be their last stand. Jake decides to use the mitres in order to go back and stop Marco from doing any damage. Jake is an Antousian and ally of Jared's. When he gets back in time he finds his nemesis Marco did not do any damage and is mated to Thea. He also finds himself hunted by Scott Dillion. Scott is half-antousian and recognizes Jake as one. Jake has many secrets and one by one they are discovered. Scott Dillion is the leader of Jared's men. In PARALLEL HEAT his life was saved by Hope Harper, a blind FBI agent. When he is rescued she goes with him. They find themselves very attracted to each other and they begin to have erotic dreams of the two of them togather. Scott finds he goes from no interest except sex with a woman to being in love with Hope. Hope Harper is an FBI agent, she is a translator, and she is sick with diabetes which is slowly taking her sight. But just the touch of Scott's hand sends her body into overdrive. Noone knows she has gone with the aliens. Now she finds herself attracted to Jake in the same way she is to Scott....it doesn't make sense to her. The puzzle of Scott, Jake, and Hope plays out to the end of the book. we are also caught up in the mateing of Kelsey and Jared, she wants a child and he needs an heir. The fertility of the King is limited and he must reach his Mateing heat to be able to make her pregnant. The interwoven plots make for a great read and I am looking forward to the next book in this series. The Antousians are not defeated yet, their leader is still determined to defeat the Refarians and the inhabitants of this world. His agression hopely will push the two fractions togather. I very much enjoyed this book and recommend all three highly. Do not miss PARALLEL ATTRACTION, or PARALLEL HEAT.

While he is recuperating from his injuries, an infiltrator, Jake Tierney, comes into their midst from another dimension. And whisks Hope away with her confused approval. Hope has the handicap of almost total blindness and needs to trust that this stranger won't do her harm in her out-of-focus world. But an unearthly force weakens him further. Hope and Scott eventually face a trial that tests their love and loyalty to each other when they come up against the Antousian enemy, Veckus. Will it be Hope and Jake or Hope and Scott? Deidre Knight has created a masterpiece that keeps the pages turning! Hope Harper's disability and the riveting plot turn up the tension in this third book of the MIDNIGHT WARRIOR series. It's an amazing read!!! I would have died if I had missed it!!!
