Excellent!!!

I loved following the story of 2 sisters: Brie and Shelby. Brie comes out of hiding in the witness protection program when her sister Shelby disappears on her romantic romp with her new boyfriend. Brie turns to the security company her dad worked for to help her track them down. The twists in this story kept me glued to the pages hoping all would end well. You'll love it!

A FIVE PLUS BUT ----------

I give it a 5 + for an excellently executed plot - great characters with much human realism but am disappointed with the common barnyard language. I suggest you use a nice black ink pen to get rid of the tripe. Does D. think we run with the common herd? Suddenly faced with her "mission" in jeapordy, Brie is starting to worry about her sister, Shelby's disappearance. Is it really a romantic get-a-way? Who is Johnny Miller? Why did he move from Breezie to Shelby? Who is John Derringer? Where does he fit into the organization? Sabrina Sullivan just waltzes into Theo Howell's Monterey estate and causes an upset with Zack Lansing, the head of Perimeter. Nobody checked her out. The twist and turns of the plot keep you on your toes as we try to find some logic in all the strange happenings. Pluto Zenner, an assassin, hit on one of Perimeter's clients. Sully Sullivan, seemingly already a legend, takes out Pluto. Now Adonis Zenner must take out Sullivan to keep face and threatens the whole family. Uncle Theo is more than willing to save the two Sullivan daughters and send them under cover. And keeps tabs on them. Apparently Zack knows about them and so does Connor and the crew. Yet Connor lets Johnny make contact with the girls. Well now we are all on the hunt for Shelby with Brianna and Zack yet there is something fishy going on. Breezie has this feeling that she is missing out on something but she just can't connect the problems. And when the arrogance of two people clash there are lies and subterfuges and a bit of humor. Zack and Sabrina just about top each other with their investigations. Yet someone is out-smarting them. With the two girls ideas that they can cope with any eventuallity, well, Shelby sure gets suckered in. Sabrina is not too far behind in letting her loyalities color her thinking. It is a great story but we sure could do without the barnyard language - must we suffer the common degrading foul usage of the common herd? It is an insult to our maturity! What ever happened to "Hell!" at this point, it is much more manly. The story itself, is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but with a black-out.

A Rollercoaster Ride Of A Read!!!

Ms. Donovan has penned a read with enough twists, turns, and possible bad guys that even the most jaded reader should find value in this read! Sabrina "Breezie" Sullivan and her sister Michelle have been put into a witness protection situation after the bombing death of their father by a known terrorist Adonis Zenner. His promise, to kill the rest of the Sullivan family before he rests! For five years "Briana" and "Shelby" live life as best they can until Shelby leaves with a new boyfriend, and doesn't contact Briana after she says she will. Briana (Sabrina) takes matter into her own hands and goes back to "Uncle Theo" her father's best friend to see if he can help her by running a background check on Shelby's new beaux. This opens a door to the past that was left ajar. Now Sabrina doesn't know who to trust, where her sister is and must stay one step ahead of a killer that has now found her. Will she be able to survive and save her sister before everything is said and done? Two sisters, two guys, multiple lies, and one bad guy. This was an amazing story that Ms. Donovan managed to flesh out without leaving any details out! Zack, Johnny, Uncle Theo, Connor...even Adonis... who do they trust? This is a read that is complex and a perfect example of what can happen once the ball gets rolling. Sabrina is a great heroine that thinks for herself. She leaves no stone unturned and is smart when it comes to her heart and her situation. Readers will be left guessing who Sabrina and Michelle should trust, and the ending will statisfy. Ms. Donovan manages to pack a big punch into a small amount of print. The end result...a fast-paced read that is smart and won't insult readers intelligence, but at the same time entertain. great action adventure thriller

Uncle Theo Howell informs his twenty years old niece Sabrina "Breeze" Sullivan that criminal Adonis Zenner, with revenge as the motive, killed her father. As they work together with danger everywhere, Zack and Sabrina fall in love, but first must save Michelle and eliminate the Adonis threat before they can explore a relationship. PARALLEL LIES is a fantastic thriller that is filled with action yet stars fully developed characters including the antagonist whose backdrop obsession induces the chain reaction of events. The feuding family suspense focuses on the intertwining of both families with death being the common denominator that links them. Who will survive the finale confrontation is not as clear as readers would expect as the good guys have some mountains to overcome. Kate Donovan writes a great action adventure tale. Harriet Klausner
