A Must Read!

From the book cover: AARON - Second in command to Cristobal Colon, he set sail for the Indies seeking adventure in the new world and fleeing persecution in the old. MAGDALENA - Caught between King Fernando's desire and Queen Ysabel's jealousy, she followed the man she had loved since childhood to the ends of the known world and beyond. THE NEW WORLD - Drawn together across religious barriers and storm-tossed oceans, they discovered a lush paradise fraught with danger and desire. Magdalena knew she'd always loved Aaron and tried to find ways to get close and learn more about him, and make him see her as not just a child anymore. Aaron was all about finding a new adventure. He was wary of Magdalena because of how her mother was, but even after their first romantic encounter he just couldn't shake the feelings he had for her. Magdalena has never truly had the love of her family, yet finds love and acceptance with Aaron's family. Misunderstanding and accusations about the fate his family causes a rift between Magdalena and Aaron, but regardless of how he'd treated her, she still sought him out when trying to escape life at a convent. When she arrived in paradise, turmoil ensues because a native Taino woman (Aaliyah) has already set sights on making things permanent with Aaron and will do anything in her power to keep make him hers. This book has the action and suspense to keep you reading into the late hours. The love scenes are steamy, but still leaves a enough for the imagination. I think it was very interesting the way she intertwined the history of the search for the Indies, the Tainos, the Jews and Christian converts into the book....instead of taking away, it enhanced the story line.
