Tegan is forced to deal with Kieran Sinclair when her friend and partner, Blair, goes missing in the Middle East. Unfortunately, Kieran Sinclair has a raft of preconceptions about her that is a mile long, based on the fact that she jilted his wheelchair bound friend a couple of years ago. Kieran's manner is not helped by coming from a dysfunctional family with an absentee mother, a father who carried on with the housekeeper and a sister who likes to experiment with designer chemicals. Tegan should really have warmed to him more, but he comes across as a bit too controlling. Luckily he is a handsome, rich guy with one of those rock-hard character traits like integrity and a convenient bunch of desert bandit friends. Just when do these heroes find the time, between running a merchant bank, detoxing their relatives and such, to forge such deep relationships with nomadic Arabs? Fortunately, Kieron seems to have managed it, wrapping up things satisfactorily by dealing with Tegan's own hang-ups over her mother's stifled career. Good fun, though, with Donald's usual raft of spin-off stories - one with Blair and her new man, and a prettily told tale about Kieron's Dad's son (with the housekeeper).
