WW II New Giuinea air war historical naritive

A history narrative of the World War II New Guinea air campaign August 1942 to September 1942. The representation is that the combined introduction of field modified A20 attack boomers (10 50 caliber MG), the deployment of parachute delayed 27# fragmentation booms, P-38 fighters, local command initiative, low altitude (1,000 feet)tactics and weather luck lead to the destruction of massed Japanese the air resources (planes and airfields), in 4 synchronized air raids on September 22 1942. Ailed air superiority caused the reversal of the ground campaign due to supply interdiction and tactical air attacks. The conversations and emotions of participants are reported in quotes beyond the possibility of documentation. I think of this as a very good docu-drama. The limits of documentable details and the details of conversations moves this form a military history to historical drama. This may explain the classification of this book as fiction instead of history.A real page turner of a book.
