Extracts from diaries and letters, regimental histories, interviews, and more fill the pages of this detailed and vivid military history. Over There is very highly recommended as an "up-close" look at what it was really like to risk your life in order to "make the world safe for democracy" in the lethal arena of the Great War.

A fun way to learn about World War I

At first, I thought this book was another general survey of World War I. While reading the prose, I felt as if I actually experienced the war. The pictures greatly added to the realistic presentation and my reading enjoyment.
