Over the Edge is Quite the Experience!!!

There has never been a book with such high-powered, realistic, awe-inspiring ski scenes. But this mystery, action thriller is no more a book about skiing than Dick Francis mysteries are about horse racing. Complex characters deals with redemption, revenge and the nightmares of both Viet Nam and the Korean War. The story is set in the winter of 1969 in the spectacular Grand Tetons amidst a conflict between the red-neck cowboy town of Jackson and a new world class ski resort filled with alcohol, drug laced children of the Sixties. Sex, drugs, rock and roll and murder flavor this novel, the skiing a surprise bonus.

Literally Over the Edge

Fantastic book, easy read,couldn't put it down. Well developed main character. Great supporting cast. Would make a good movie with flash backs. Could hit the best seller lists. Skiing, avalanches, the mob and murder all play important parts. You will remember the book.

Skiing the Backdrop But is Much More

From great character development to a fascinating read, Mr. Kaplan has hit the mark with a first rate first novel. I thought I picked up a skiing book, but it is only the setting, not the terrific story threading its way through it. You won't be disappointed.

A Biased Reader

Yes, I know the author. Now for the review: The thing I love about this book is that it takes on violence and war, questioning the individual's responsibility for his own violent behavior and its consequences. A fine literary thriller.

This action novel definitely has all the right ingredients and puts you smack in the middle of the all action from page one right through to the unexpected "whodunnit" climax high up on the snowy cliffs overlooking beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Once you start turning the pages, you will not want to stop. Sequel, I am hoping??
