A Sign of Our Times

I don't always share Jack Thompson's religious views or motivation but I can respect a man that has the courage to launch a culture war against indecent language, pornography and violence directed at our children. And his self-professed "crusade" has made an impact on our society for the better. His efforts have come at great personal and professional costs to both him and his family and regardless whether you agree with his position or not, it is a position he advocates with far greater passion and eloquence than the 'entertainment industry' can muster in its own defense. At least Jack Thompson is urging us to be free thinkers, motivated by our own beliefs and not by the greed and power behind the entertainment giants profiting at our children's expense. When you read this book you will get both sides of the argument, but you have to read the entire book. This is not a book to skim or take lightly, it deserves your open mind and attention to detail. And, apparently, many of the reviewers have lacked such efforts as they miss the point of this book - -to keep an open mind and make informed choices when faced with people trying to profit off our children. Should you read this book? Yes. Should you join Jack's fight? Maybe, that is for you to decide. But Jack gives you a full color picture of what his - or your own - battle is likely to entail, the challenges and the rewards for doing what you believe to be the right thing. That is a responsible message we should all read and take to heart.

I appreciate this book.

I think Jack should have all of his clients read this book before he represents them, so they know where he is coming from. I thought the book was good, and I now understand him more. I read it in one sitting. I applaud Jack for sharing this, and for his work. Good job, Jack! Keep it up. Liz Woolley
