Stacy Abrams Our Time Is Now tells it like it has been and our need to change it going forward

Stacy Abrams uses her life experiences of the Jim Crow south, her family life and the experiences of a cross section of black, Latino and poor folks generally, to show the importance of becoming politically involved in the economic well being of all within our society. She explains in great detail the many political tactics used such as gerrymandering, voter suppression, voter intimidation and closure of polling stations among others, to prevent a democratic participation in a flawed electoral process. She also shares her passion of being involved in making this process one that works for the improvement of all American lives and not just the lives and power of a special interests. While educating the electorate, Stacy offers insights into how and why every American, particularly the so called underclass blacks and people of color, should become involved in the improvement of the process by first understanding, then registering, then voting to fulfill a civil obligation, despite any intimidation or obstacles. A well written and self motivating book on how to begin to work towards fulfilling what is everyone's civic duty.
