The Best

What a book! I have used quite a few books about change, but this one is not "about" change, it is how to "do" change. The phases and the constituent roles under each are clear and very helpful. The tools are excellent, and the fact that I could use them off the CD-ROM saved me hours of time. I only wish that I would have had this book years ago. Anyone who is responsible for change is out of his or her mind for not following the wisdom found in this book.

In Defense of Change

This book uses a three-dimensional model ["The Cube"] to demonstrate key elements and their interaction to affect change. These three elements; stakeholders, the process and communication each have separate chapters in the book. Each chapter includes two case studies of organizations going through a change project. The case studies are the best part of the book because they help relate the theory with actual results and failures. The studies go through the seven steps in the change process from planning to evaluation. This book is for the OD consultant, HR professional or organizational change agent. Especially for one starting a change project right now. There are a variety of checklists, worksheets, templates and forms in the book and to download from the enclosed CD. Also helpful to change agents selecting a committee for a project is a suggested individual rating and interview form. Getting the best talent for the effort can be half the success. The author's acknowledge the time factor and overcoming resistance to effect any change. Their approach is to obtain widespread participation and input from a variety of sources. To paraphrase their work; Communicate a lot with all stakeholders as you work through the change process.
