Organizational Behavior in Education: Adaptive Leadership and School Reform

Great explanations of theories; great that the text includes learning objectives in the beginning and reflective activities at the end of each chapter.

Organizational Behavior in Education: Adaptive Leadership and School Reform (9th Edition)

It came a little late, but because it came from England. Thanks for sending it!

Not Boring

I would have to say that most text books are written as though the teacher from Ferris Bueller's Day Off is reading them, boring and mundane, but this book is written as though someone is talking to you. He goes off with some relevant side tangents to help you better understand the concepts. I appreciated this book for the topics covered and the manner in which they were addressed.

Good overview

Book provides in one place a number of organizational theories which results in a useful text for a graduate course on organizational theory as it applies to educational organizations

A wonderful research piece!

This text was used in an Educational Administration course in which I was enrolled. If you have any desire to be an administrator in a school - this is the book for you. It is clear, concise and research based. The writer refrains from sermonizing and allows the reader to produce conclusions based upon the presented research. I particularly found chapter 9 (i.e the work of W. Edwards Deming) to be inspiring.Every book has its faults as does this one. As stated before, most of the book is research. Unfortunately, most of the research essentially says the same thing but in different forms. Reading the same thing after a while becomes monotonous. The final chapter was very difficult to read. Please do not be put off by my negative comments. I recommend this book highly.
