Teaching architectural differences, as they pertain to Oracle, between Unix and Windows NT, this book describes Oracle-supplied, NT-specific utilities in detail, including the NT Instance Manager, NT... This description may be from another edition of this product.
One of those rare books that is useful to the new and experienced Oracle user. Explains many of the NT/Oracle interaction details that are glossed over in other books, but are essential to know. Excellent prose; clear, consise, down-to-earth. These authors "get it".
Great book for experienced Oracle/Unix DBAs going to NT

This book is well structured, well organized, and well written. It has a lot of good examples and figures in support of the text. I referenced this book many times in my first implemetation of Oracle on Windows_NT. It was immensely helpful and saved me a lot of time and effort. The sections on Oracle Enterprise Manager and performance tuning were extremely informative and useful. In my opinion, this book is a must for Oracle DBA's implementing and supporting Oracle on Windows_NT.

The first actual NT-oriented Oracle book we've seen!

My company has been developing applications on Oracle and NT for more than 4 years already, and we never found a good book that integrated both platforms efficiently. The official Oracle documentation for NT is really poor and this guide is perfect for both first-time users and experienced Oracle DBAs.We highly recommend it!

While there are only a few Oracle/NT books, this one shines. The examples are easy to understand, and I was able to avoid many pitfalls by reading the set-up chapters. I find myself referencing this book almost every day. Very helpful; it was the only way for me to implement a large Oracle8/NT system.
