Optimal Human Being addresses two questions: how can individuals best integrate the different facets of themselves to achieve "optimal human being", and how can researchers best integrate the different levels of analysis within the human sciences
I am only a third of the way through this book, but I felt compelled to let others know now that this book is serious, i.e., not a shallow self-help book. The author is a psychologist of personality, and he has carefully set personality into a broad realist context. His model immediately makes more sense of the human condition than almost every other psychology book I've read. If you care about what you are as a human and what your relation to the world is, then you will appreciate the information provided here.
