Michal Fedo quickly gets us into the true heart of baseball. He doesn't see his subjects as fallen or flawed heroes, but as human beings who took on the most athletic of all sports and struggled to get it right. And they "got it right" ... for just One Shining Season. Fedo's approach to documentary writing is unique, a bit quirky, and ultimately satisfying. His interview technique is flawless and he listens with an ear to the players' inner voices. This book is a wonderful achievement and a is a grand addition to the "inside" fan's sports library.
