Very touching story!

I was truly touched by this story. It shows you that not all failed marriages are bound to stay that way! The characters of Mitchell and Virtue were so true to life. I know of at least 2 other families that reminded me of this couple. It was great to see Mitchell show the emotion he felt for his wife-even though seven years went by since their divorce, he still had so much love for her. I rejoiced at the end when Virtue truly laid her past abuse aside to embark on what was to be a second start to a relationship she never imagined she would experience again, but this time one that God restored. Kendra is a literary icon that takes any situation and shows God's handiwork throughout. I look forward to now reading "This Far By Faith." I'm sure it is just as beautiful.

Well Done

Kendra has done it again. This was a excellent read, i loved the characters. One Prayer Away allows you to keep the faith and know that God knows your heart and he will answer in his time. Looking forward to a possible sequel.

This was a good read

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author. The book was very realistic and it showed that people can change and we cannot judge others for their past but the person they present to us in the present. Keep up the good work. Author of "Someone to Restore Me" [..]

A truly gifted author

KNB just may be my favorite Christian fiction author. I discovered her work maybe two months ago, and I have read three so far. This one, Crossing Jhordan's River, and A Love So Strong (love!!). She truly has a way to make you relate to her characters. What I enjoy is that characters lead her stories...not plot points. It's almost as if you are in the story with the characters. Given the sensitive issue dealt with, I was very happy. I'm glad KNB did not go Lifetime and beat us down with facts, statistics, or male-bashing. Brava!

Kendra Norman-Bellamy's ONE PRAYER AWAY is a compelling story of betrayal, alcoholism and abuse. This book is about a brutha with God in his heart, a bottle of vodka in his back pocket, a lady on his mind and a skank breathing down his neck. What's a man to do? The characters in the story only exist in Norman-Bellamy's imagination but any one of us could know people like them in real life without knowing the issues they are dealing with. I give ONE PRAYER AWAY major props. It has all of the key elements to keep you turning the pages. Kendra Norman-Bellamy is making quite a footprint in this genre. She does an excellent job creating dramatic situations-makes us happy, makes us sad, makes us laugh and makes us cry without making a mockery of the faith.
