Readable explanation about voter suppression techniques

I first learned of Carol Anderson in a PBS interview about voter suppression, and her work has opened my eyes in that politicians aren't chosen by the electorate; the electorate is chosen by politicians. It defends that voting is a right, and not a privilege, and those in power know their positions aren't merited when they use voter suppression tactics.
