Can't wait for the movie

Just when we thought the Russians were our friends, this book explores the possibility of their involvement in 9/11. What a seemingly logical, but brilliant, theory! The book opens on Sept. 11. Did you ever wonder what it was like for the people inside the Twin Towers on that day? In the first chapter of One Oktober, you are there, wondering what the he**'s going on or if you'll make it out alive, stumbling in the dark, inhaling dust and smoke, and running for your life. Days later, a cynical FBI agent reluctantly teams up with a female Russian operative on a desperate road trip and race with time to uncover details on the next terrorist hit ... and attempt to prevent it. Despite the serious subject matter, Donnelly has created complex and entertaining characters whose interactions and escapades will make you laugh out loud. It's got everything: action, murder, car chases, historical relevance, sex and humor. It's a smart person's historical action thriller and has all the makings of a blockbuster movie. I've already got the cast picked out...

An intrigue to what might have been...

This puts a whole new spin on the possibility of what might have been the real reason behind 911 and perhaps what is to come?!! I read the first chapter online and then decided I was intrigued enough to buy the book. I'm still reading it and I am still thoroughly intrigued!!

great action

A new author zeroes in with a story dealing with probabiliteis in our uncertain times. Storyline was taut, but had some good lines showing the writers ability to poke fun in this intense drama and still make the reader want to turn the page to see what "Gomez" was going to do next.

Behind the terrorism of 9/11

As bad as 9/11 was, could it have been much worse? Joseph Donnelley takes you through the horrors of that fatal day, from an unexpected perspective and then gives you a front-row seat in a nail-biting journey with an FBI agent and his unlikely Russian companion during the following weeks. Page-by-page you begin to wonder if there truly was more death and destruction planned for American lives--even after 9/11. The vivid descriptions of the characters, the settings, and the action paints such vivid mental images, you begin to feel like you are watching a movie as you read about the sinister plots Gomez and Miss Viisky unravel. Could it be that someone really was doing their job? Could it be that this is the rest of the story? "Gripping...taut...unrelenting, yet surprisingly humane. Donnelley's One October is a spy-thriller in book form. --Ronald L. Donaghe winner of the Jim Duggins' Outstanding Mid-Career Novelist Award, 2008
