British born Latisha Fenshaw has received a heart-wrenching lesson about honesty and commitment. After a year-long relationship her, boyfriend announces that he is reuniting with a wife she did not know he had. To compensate for his breakup, he leaves her the deed to the house in New York, where they spent their private moments. But when the real owner of the deed, Congressman Bren Hunter, shows up Latisha finds herself heartbroken and homeless. Being the gentleman that he is, Bren offers her temporary lodging. But there is something unsettling about Bren, and when she adds the fact that there is an instant chemistry between them, she refuses his offer. The plot thickens when Latisha learns that Bren's sister is married to her infamous boyfriend. Bren, equally aware of their attraction, is hard-pressed to expose his sister's philandering husband, ensure his sister's safety, and capitalize on the first deep feelings he has had for a woman in a long time. A secondary story is the fact that the wronged wife is not as docile as she appears. In fact she slyly reminds everyone of the words from and old song, that asks 'who's making love to your old lady, while you're out making love?', which heightens the mystery. ONE MORE CHANCE is a love story that encompasses two continents with a vigor that is refreshing and entertaining. Sonia Icilyn still enthralls readers with cultural differences that enhance the story. This is my fourth read by this author and for me she still has the magic. I liked it. I thought it could have been developed a little more. But once I got into it, it was a cute love story.
