Great ending to a fabulous trilogy

I have read all books in this series and they are extremely good. In fact so good, that I cancelled a hair appointment to finish this one, and I really needed my hair cut. I am not going to tell you the plot as others have done this, but if you haven't already read Don't Look Now and then Never Look Back, buy both of those when you buy this one. Start with Don't Look Now. I really hope there are other books in this series because I really like these characters and the plots. I think Linda Lael Miller has lots of mileage yet in Clare and Sonterra. Definitely worth buying.

Wish it wasn't over yet

I can't seem to get enough of Tony and Clare. This is a very high speed, sexy book. I read all three books and I want more. I could't believe the big suprise about Clare, and you won't either. It popped out of nowhere. I love how Tony and Clare will be at each others throats one minute and then making hot, sensual love the next. I also love Emma. She was such the pre teen that you would expect her to be. She was very smart and wants to be a cop. I loved this whole series because I could totally see it as a movie. It was descriptive enough to make you see what Clare was seeing, but not overly discriptive that it takes 2 or three pages to describe a person's shirt. I absolutely recommend this book. You will love the emotional roller coaster it will take you on. But make sure you read the first two of the books. Don't Look Now and Never Look Back. GREAT SERIES!!!

HOPE IT'S NOT THE LAST!

What a great trilogy! Clare and Sonterra were a GREAT couple! The mystery was excellent. Clare's wry humor was a large part of the enjoyment. Sonterra is transferred to Dry Creek as Chief of Police. Clare, Emma and the dogs go along for the ride and what a great ride it is. Clare's life is frenetic to say the least. Sonterra is alway there to haul her out of the holes she falls into. Emma, Clare's niece, is adorable and Loretta should be everyone's best girlfriend. Needless to say, Clare has an interesting pregnancy and wedding (in that order :D). Fast read, absorbing story, great tension and, oh yeah, HOT ROMANCE! :D I am sad to hear this is the last book of Clare and Tony. I so enjoyed this series. So entertaining I didn't hear my name called for a stand-by reservation!!! Kudos to LLM!!

My first contemporary by Linda Lael Miller!

Clare Westbrook has fought hard for her success as a lawyer. Living in Phoenix with her lover, Detective Tony Sonterra, Clare is pregnant and content. She has even accepted Tony's marriage proposal and for a commitment phobe like Clare, that is a true testament of her love. So when Tony accepts a job as Chief of Police in the small town of Dry Creek, Clare reluctantly agrees to give up her practice and make the move too. Dry Creek is a hotbed for criminal activity. A deadly illegal immigrant smuggling operation is connected to the small town and Tony is determined to eliminate it. Restless, Clare takes a job, much to Tony's chagrin, as an investigator for the D.A.'s office. Clare immediately begins investigating the disappearance of a child whose mother has been murdered. With the smuggling ring, murders, and the abducted child, Clare is once again in the thick of danger. Tony, working hard to marry Clare as quickly as possible, is also doing everything in his power to protect her. With numerous attempts on her life, it is soon clear that Dry Creek is not safe for Clare or her unborn child. One Last Look is my first Linda Lael Miller novel since her transition to romantic suspense. I was delighted and thoroughly entertained! The final book in this series, One Last Look works well as a stand alone novel. I enjoyed this crime-solving couple so much, I must now read Never Look Back and Don't Look Now. The mystery and suspense of this book is very well-written and is the perfect complement to Clare and Tony's love story. I was especially pleased by Clare's strength of will and intelligence. That Tony supports and adores Clare despite the conflict of his desire to protect her and her desire to be in the thick of things, appealed to me immensely. With a lot of thrilling action, well-defined and interesting characters, delicious romance and a heart-warming happily ever after, One Last Look truly satisfies! A Page Turner!

Ms. Miller has made the switch from wonderful historicals, to truly entertaining suspense reads. Although this is part of a series, it is also a solid stand alone read. If anything this read will influence your need to pick up the previous titles in the series. Clare and Sonterra are back and life is still as unpredictable as it can be. Tony is taking a job in Dry Creek, Arizona. This sleepy little town has a problem...a big one. Bodies keep disappearing, and bones and dead bodies keep piling up. Who is killing them and why does it seem that Clare is an intended victim? When one accident leads to another, and ghostly visions keep Clare awake at night, it become more than obvious that things are dangerous for Clare. Will she see the light of day and have a chance to walk down the aisle to her love Sonterra? Or will a killer put an end to that? Although this reader has not yet read the previous titles I was still highly entertained by this story. Ms. Miller has created some very dynamic characters Ms. K, Emma, Eddie, and Loretta just to name a few are wonderful additions to Tony (Sonterra) and Clare. Their relationship is complex but sensual. I truly believed that these two loved each other, as a result the chemistry between them during the course of the read was in fact a character all itself. Ms. Miller is a shining star in the publishing industry with an amazing talent of weaving words into a wonderful tapestry that entertains.
