A story for the times we live in. This book is about what happens when we, as wives and mothers, put too much into our children and not enough into our marriage. We often forget that one day our children will go off to have lives of their own, leaving us with what? Sylvia has spent years raising her children, and Randy has spent years building his career. Now that they have finally succeeded Randy realizes he doesn't love his wife anymore, and wants a divorce. What he doesn't realize is that he doesn't really know her anymore. Sylvia realizes that she can't lay the blame all on his shoulders. She has spent so much time trying to be the mother and christian she thinks she should be, she has negelected to be the wife she was supposed to be. Now she wants another chance. She agrees to give Randy an uncontested divorce if he will give her one more chance at being the wife she should have been. He has to move back in and spend the week of Christmas with her. Reluctantly, he agrees, and is quite surprised to find he really enjoys himself. However, being on your best behavior for a week doesn't mean it will last forever. What happens when the week is over and life "happens" again? This is a very moving story, and for some, very relevent. The characters are believable and the situations are, at times, heart-rending. This book is difinately worth your time. I enjoyed reading this book, and will probably read it again in the future.
