Loved it!!

I found this a truly enjoyable read. Pierce Hutton is a unique character; I can totally relate to his grief for his first wife & his feelings that he is betraying her memory by getting involved w/ Brianne. There is a similarity between Pierce & Garon Grier from "Lawman" in that they both lost their wives to cancer. However, Pierce is a much more sympathetic character. He marries Brianne to protect her from Kurt Brauer & Philippe Sabon but when he attempts to keep her @ arms's length, he is not cruel or vicious as Garon Grier is with Grace Carver. Brianne is a handful, she's sweet, innocent, smart & brave by turns. When she learns the truth about Philippe, she is very compassionate toward him & they become friends, which makes Pierce jealous & makes for some spectacular fights. Everything works out, though, in true DP fashion. I can highly recommend this book, along with Lord of The Desert & Paper Rose, which continue the stories of Philippe & Tate Winthrop, respectively.

Couldnt put it down!!!!

I decide to read the first chapter just to find out how it started and if i wanedt to read it...lets just say I read into the second....i couldn't put it down...so I had to buy it. The characters are so well written....especially Pierce...and Brianne. I greatly recommend this book

Vintage Palmer!

Once in Paris, Brianne Martin saved the life of Pierce Hutton. It was nothing so dramatic as pulling him from a burning building, just a simple act of caring for the grief-stricken man. Stunned by the recent loss of his wife, Pierce hadn't forgotten the caring Brianne had shown him, and when the time came to return the favor, he didn't hesitate. In order to save Brianne from the attentions of her step-fathers corrupt business partner, Pierce marries her in name only. But when they are kidnapped and their lives threatened, Pierce and Brianne decide to reach for the happiness they glimpsed Once in Paris. This book, in my opinion, is one of Ms. Palmers best in years. If you liked Vintage Palmer, take a chance on this lively, adventurous book!
