I first came across this book in 5th grade, when I began my study of French. I was amazed to hear that, being mere 10 year-olds, we would be studying from the same text as a normal high-school class. The book outlines everything in a very clear and efficient manner. Some might consider it to be a great deal slower-paced than most other foreign-language textbooks, but believe me, that definitely made a difference to me. It took 4 years for me to finish the first two books, but at the end of 8th grade, all the information had been so efficiently drilled into our heads, everybody in the class had a 100% passing rate to enter advanced high-school French classes. We had completed more than the basic requirements to enter French II (the highest levels most high schools allow freshmen to enter), that in the graduating class of 1999, nearly half the class entered French 3, with many in honors-level classes. I currently am enrolled in a AP French 4 course, and I can definitely say that without the early start in French I had at Brookfield, there would be no way that I'd be where I am today.
