Brilliant human story

I read the hype. After reading and listening to several hundred reminiscences of survival from the Pol Pot era, some true, some not, I expected more of the same. This is not more of the same. Assuredly not. A truly beautifully understated telling of a life of tragedy, a life so filled with suffering that surely there can be no pbaap left. Essential reading for anybody who wants to know something of the consequences of survival, of the real face of not just Cambodia, but to some degree of America. If you read nothing else, read this work and ponder.

Where's Your Passion ?

Thanks Oni for having the courage and passion to share your story with the world. This story of "Man's Inhumanity to Man" is moving and you will slowly become involved in Oni's struggle for survival and justice for the children of Cambodia. The book is a must read for every public school teacher and those individuals and organizations who fight for peace and justice in our global community...

On the Wings of a White Horse

What an amazing story of some one surviving, at such a young age, in the face of terrible adversity. I have recommended the book to many other educators. The fact that she is still alive and could write this book is the most amazing of all.

Unforgettable story!

This amazing saga of survival, both in Cambodia and in the U.S. as a young refugee, is a book I couldn't put down, and a story I'll never forget! And, having endured so much pain and suffering, Oni found it in her heart to commit herself to helping the children of Cambodia receive the opportunities she never had. The book is a quick read; the story will stay with you forever! Paul Sweet
