I am very happy with this simple, straight-forward, beautifully illustrated book. Both of my children, ages 18 months and 3, love to read "On The Farm and talk about the pictures at length. Some days they are most interested in the sheep, other the chickens. The illustrations are simple enough for a young child to understand while still conveying a lot of meaning and details. There aren't gimmicks or a hidden morale, and no mean interactions or anything tacky about this book. If you are looking for a a sweet story about a day on the farm from the children's perspective, you've found it. Thank you Usborne!
Wonderful book for farm lovers

My husband bought this book for our 18 month old daughter who loves to visit farms. It is a delightfully illustrated book which focuses on a simple day in a working farm, from the rooster crowing to taking off muddy boots at the end of the day. The majority of pictures include a young boy and girl, sometimes they are doing chores (feeding a small lamb, pick lettuce) and sometimes they are watching the action (the milk truck coming, the tractor plowing the fields). My daughter requests this book every night and delights in the animals and the role of the children. I enjoy the factual nature of the book and how within a story which is interesting to a one year old many aspects of actual farm life are shown. I will definitely be ordering more from this series.
