I heard this book on tape and had to buy it...

Egan is a hospice chaplain. Her style flows easily between sharing the stories of individuals she meets and her own gleanings. She does not preach, and shares her personal story (she almost died) as well as explaining her work in an open and humble manner. I found this book inspiring and have given ON LIVING as a gift to a senior chaplain and to friends whose parents are dying.

Dissapointing

This book came highly recommended, but personally it didn't do anything for me. I thought there would be greater insight and stories as to people's final thoughts near death. Nothing really stood out to me.
