Written over the past half century, ON LEARNING ANOTHER LANGUAGE is a collection of short stories and poems about "language," which in its broadest meaning can take the reader on an interesting journey into another time and culture. The poems provide the background to the different places. Sometimes the author is an outsider looking in, at others an insider looking out, or a combination of the two. This is a diverse panorama of human experience. H. S. Worthington was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, graduated from McGill University in Montreal, and has a diploma from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has lived many years in Canada, United States, Venezuela, Switzerland, Italy, and longest, in Spain. Children, grandchildren, and friends are scattered around the world. She keeps in touch with internet and airplanes. She has many favorite places, but airports are not on the list.
