If you like learning things about the language and don't mind some humor thrown in, any of his collected-column books are well worth the read. Yes, he was a political troglodyte and even did some slimy speech-writing for Tricky Dick, but these language books are non-political. Do you know the diff between a dangling participle and one merely misplaced? Get with the program!
