Thought-provoking, interesting book. Shaffer at his best.

This is my favorite of Tom Shaffer's books. The concepts and arguments he makes seem like they should be common sense, but they illustrate how easy it is to get clouded by law school and the legal profession. He found that law students don't feel like law schools make them insensitive. They are upset that law school has no effect on them whatsover--doesn't guide the altruism they came to law school with....they graduate with no better idea of how to be ethical and work for justice than they had before they endeavored to learn the law. Enlightening book, with some fantastic recommenations for lawyers, teachers, and students.
