Another Chilling Terrorfest From Ketchum

4 AND 1/2 STARS If you have ever dated someone who you felt was unstable, imagine that person a dozen times worse and bent on revenge, using every ounce of their energy to invade your life and destroy everything around you. This is the main character, Dora Welles, of Jack Ketchum's new novella, Old Flames. True, the book is quite short, but that doesn't take away from this chilling tale of one woman's quick decent into madness and revenge. Ketchum uses clean, beautiful prose with a stunningly impressive economy of words, never backing away from the difficult subject matter. His honest and realistic approach to sudden and spontaneous violence is the best in the genre today. Incredibly addictived and one of the best titles of the year.

Great Book!!

This was my first Jack Ketchum book....I know, i know where have i been....but i was very impressed. This was a very good book with 2 stories, Old flames and Right to life. After reading this book i can say that i am now a Ketchum fan and will be getting my little hands on everything or almost everything he has out. I would highly recommend this book, it's a page turner.

Ketchum Delivers ... As Always.

Jack Ketchum is the guy who always delivers real life horrors to his devoted readers and always manages to make the story and characters stick to your brain long after you're done reading it. Old Flames is about a wild woman named Dora who is tired of her men dumping her and treating her with disrespect. She finds an agency that finds 'old flames' and decides to look up her old college boyfriend who is now happily married with two kids ... but not for long. Some readers might say this is a fatal attraction story, but like I said, if you want real life horror, look no further; anyone who has had a possessive boyfriend or girlfriend will cringe at the possibilities this story throws into your mind. The second half of this book contains the bonus novella, Right To Life. Leisure Books still continue to bring us some of the best horror authors in the biz. 5 Stars for Jack 'The Madman' Ketchum's Old Flames!
