Best Cookbook Ever

I just got through another Thanksgiving and once again, using the receipes in this book, the meal turned out great. I purchased this book over 30 years ago when I first got married. I think I have made just about every receipe in it, and everything has turned out great. Like one of the previous reviewers my book is well worn, spattered with all kinds of ingredients, but that is what a well loved cookbook looks like.

Jan McBride Carlton's Old Fashioned Cookbook

I'm in total agreement with the first two reviews. This was the first cookbook I purchased after I got married. The old one is well used, splattered and falling apart so I did buy another copy. It's still the best cookbook ever. I can't tell you how many old family favorites come from this book.

Best cookbook I own

I have owned this cookbook for over 30 years and it is still my favorite. I'm buying a copy for my nephew who has just gotten into cooking and has been asking for family recipes. These recipes are the closest I have ever found to the ones served by my mother's family. I was tempted to buy two copies since mine is falling apart but I'd lose the notes I've written in the margins. I highly recommend this book!

Best Cookbook on my shelf

I have owned this cookbook for 27 years and think it is the best one on my shelf. I always refer to it & can think of only one recipe that I wasn't completely happy with in the whole book. My book is falling apart now but is still usable - which is why I can't bring myself to replace it for $45!

My Favorite Cookbook

I have used this cookbook so much that the binding is falling apart. When I have cooked an apple pie from scratch, I have used the recipes for the pie and for the pastry. Every time that I made the pie, people who have eaten it say that it is the best apple pie that they have eaten.
