Better than book one

An Improvement on Pre-existing work

The one flaw that I saw with the first book of this series was that one protagonist Emma and other minor characters had no clear motivation but this is made clear, personality and relationships are defined and we get to see the political development of the mer world. I'm curious to read more. The Author interview in the back of the book is worth it's weight in gold.
