Disturbing

I really didn't know what to expect with this book. I couldn't imagine how a family of five could hide in plain sight. This is a very disturbing book on many levels. In some places it made me physically ill, reading about how the father of this family controlled and brutalized his wife and children and, more to the point, as the kids aged into their 20's why the put up with it. I almost didn't finish it but decided to see how the facade created during the years on the run would end, which it did but a what a cost.
