Can't Put it Down

I read Nothing But Money while on vacation, and it was one of those books that makes a good vacation even better. Smith's description of the stranger-than-fiction Wall Street and mob characters who are inexorably drawn together by greed is a tour-de-force -- often because of the touches he so deftly weaves in that paint a fascinating picture of the divergent cultures from which the main characters emerge. Just a great read!

GREAT BOOK!

Great book if you enjoy reading about the mob. Extra enjoyable because I've been involved with Wall St for many years.

Wall street and the Mob

Very good book. I like how the book is divided up into the Mob World, Wall Street World, and the inbetween. I find the book also more entertaining than "Born to Steal", a similar book.

Greg Smith is writing with two fists of dynamite in Nothing But Money. From the wasteland of Staten Island to the metropolis of Manhattan, Smith skewers the slimey underbelly of organized crime and wall street. May he one day move from nonfiction to prose. Hold steady, we might have another Tolstoy on our hands.
