Book Overview

Reading Notes To Myself is one of those rare experiences that comes only once in a great while. The editor who discovered the book said, "When I first read Prather's manuscript it was late at night and I was tired, but by the time I finished it, I felt rested and alive. Since then I've reread it many times and it says even more to me now." The book serves as a beginning for the reader's exploration of his or her own life and as a treasury of thoughtful...

I can't leave a good enough review- my favorite book of all time.

This book changed my perception of life & my life overall. I love it dearly and own many copies. I only wish I could go back and read it again for the first time. Amazingly beautiful and full of humble, hidden wisdom.

Wonderful, insightful book.

I received this book from a friend in 1990. The copyright in the book is 1970, and the cost was a mere $2. I read this book at a time in my life when things were as bad as I thought they could get. I underlined passages, wrote notes on pages, and each time I read it, I feel like I'm getting in touch with myself again. It's an extremely good feeling when you can read your own thoughts and views on the world from someone else.. from someone you don't know. Everyone should read this book, and then pass it on to friends, or children.

A Massage for the Soul

A friend introduced me to this little gem as a teenager nearly twenty years ago, and I've returned to it often over the years in times of stress. The piercing clarity and brutal honesty of these simple, yet profound, observations slows my racing thoughts and magically puts things into perspective. So find a quiet place, set aside an hour or two, and let Hugh Prather show you how to live in the moment and rid yourself of that insatiable craving for external validation. You won't regret it.

Opening Your Mind

The book helps you to look deep inside to what might be if you work inside yourself and look to your enter wisdom for guidance. I have really enjoyed giving this book as a gift to help people on the road to healing. Thanks Hugh and Gayle Prather for your help and guidance.

outstanding

I've read many books by this author and I am always satisfied. These books not only express what and ineresting world it is through someone elses eyes but gives you the sight to see it for yourself. I found that I enjoy my own views on things a little bit more now than I ever did before. I suggest this book and the others for one of those peaceful nights at home along with some encouragement for the next day.

This book is theaputic like a true friend.

When I first read this book I thought someone had gone inside my head and rearranged my own thoughts and spoke them for me. It became a reference for me when I needed help with everyday stress showing me that no matter what, we are all in this together. I bought the book and whenever I came across a friend that seemed as though they needed some peace in thier lives, I would give it to them. I've given away five so far and I'm going to buy another one, this book is one I want to always have in my home
