A short read that's re-readable

Notes on a Nervous Planet is a mixed bag of sorts. It's a book about living with anxiety at the age of new media. The book itself reads like a series of short journal entries pasted together to form a larger narrative. At first, I found it a bit annoying but grew to enjoy it. Think of it as a "Chicken Soup for the Soul" style of story collection if you will. It's a style where one can open any page and read any entry they like without losing pace with the rest of the book. Some people may dislike that, others may prefer that style of storytelling. Matt Haig is personal with his stories describes his own battles with mental illness. These issues can be exacerbated by social media. He offers some real solutions that he uses that readers can take for themselves. Yet, without a more cohesive structure, Matt doesn't get much depth in the book's themes. But at least it's a good place to start. 3.5/5 rounded to 4/5. Could dive deeper into the topics but leaves the readers wanting more. Great feel-good book for anyone suffering from information overload in today's world.
