Hession shows that the way to victory is not in striving to be better people, but in allowing ourselves to be supplanted by Christ our true King. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The author has done a superb job of taking the story of David and Saul and translating their struggles and destinies into my own life experiences. This depiction of the typology of how David represents my new life in Christ as opposed to the Saul of my old nature. As Christians we start out on a journey of joy and anticipation, quickly realizing that the Saul in our humanity does not want to relinquish the throne to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The author has shown that, as with David, the Battle is the Lord's and ultimately, "Not I, but Christ", will obtain the victory.
