Not I, but Christ brings together thirty-five of Corrie ten Boom's inspirational devotionals that give an explanation of Christ's life and outline how the Christian can appropriate that life to bring glory to God.
Corrie ten Boom's enthusiastic attitude is infectious! Though submitting as completely as one reasonably can to Christ, her outlook is overwhelmingly positive. This book is VERY readable, with anecdotes about how she has seen the relevancy of scripture in her own life. The reader is warmly exhorted to share in her enthusiasm. This would not be so compelling aside from her WWII experience. Their country accupied by the Nazis, this devout, protestant Dutch family hid Jews in their home despite the grave danger this placed them in. Eventually Corrie ten Boom and her sister were arrested and placed in a concentration camp. Sadly, her sister died while in prison. Yet Corrie ten Boom's message is clearly optimistic, even triumphant. I wish I could have met her. Read one and you will want another. Also recommended is "The Hiding Place".
a tangible presence!

God was a tangible presence as I read through this book. It was sitting on a coffee table during a retreat I attended. I can't tell you how much it elevated my spirit and gave me hope. Corrie deals with questions/issues in short pieces; these entries come from her radio addresses, I believe. In this book Corrie gives guidance for all of the important questions of life. Do you have tough questions? Are you discouraged? Confused? Afraid? I was, and God really touched me through reading this. I have been wanting to buy the book ever since I looked throug it during my stay at the retreat many months ago. May this book sit on everyone's coffe tables! PS-An excellent complement to THE HIDING PLACE.
Learn from someone who loves God

In "Not I But Christ" Ten Boom shares some of her insight and wisdom that could only come from the Father. This book is set up like a devotional, but I read it like a novel. She asks questions that really make you ask yourself what you believe. I reccomend this book to anyone who is a Christian, or is interested in becoming a Christian. It really has helped me grow in my walk of faith.
